Kin and Harmony
Kin and Harmony were developed as part of a self-directed project completed during my co-ops at Kao. The project was designed to reflect the type of brand and product development work conducted at Kao while allowing for greater creative freedom.
Over the course of two semesters, I developed two distinct yet connected product lines. During my first semester, I created Kin, a cross-category brand designed for young families, centered around everyday essentials. In my second semester, I developed Harmony, a sister brand to Kin offering targeted skincare treatments and self-care essentials tailored to a Gen Z consumer.
-
For each brand, I designed a variety of touchpoints, including packaging, point-of-purchase displays, and social media content. I also collaborated with 3D Color to produce a physical packaging comp for one product from each brand, giving me valuable exposure to the comping process and a deeper understanding of how packaging concepts translate from screen to shelf.
RESULT
Developed two complementary brands that maintain a cohesive visual and strategic foundation while expressing unique personalities tailored to their respective audiences. The result is a connected brand family rooted in warmth, approachability, and quiet confidence.
TASK
Create two hypothetical cross-category consumer brands tailored to distinct audiences through the development of cohesive product lines and supporting brand touchpoints.
